Furies are guardians of the law and avengers of guilt. They would punish all crimes, striking the offenders with madness and never stopped following criminals. Their roman name is Erinyes. There was three Furies or Daughters of the Night, Tisiphone, an avenger of murder, Megaera, the jealous one, and Alecto, who was constantly angered. They had snakes for hair and blood eyes. They were ugly, winged women, wearing long black robes. The parents of the Furies were Uranus and Gaea.
In the myth it says ”From this flower the Furies, the avengers of guilt, twist garlands to bind their hateful brows.” Guilt means the fact of having committed a specified or implied offense or crime. So I think they were included at the end of this myth because they were their to punish Narcissus by turning him into a flower. From Furies we get the wors ”furious” and ”infuriated.” I got my information from http://www.in2greece.com/english/historymyth/mythology/names/furies.htm and http://www.theoi.com/Khthonios/Erinyes.html .

The Furies Allecto – endless, unceasing, Magaera – resentful, jealous, grudging, Tisiphone – punishing, avenging
The furies are aged women with dogs’ heads, bats’ wings, black skin, hair of snakes their smell was foul, and they oozed foul substances from their mouths, eyes, and noses; their noises were like an old woman’s cackle or a dog’s bark. Sometimes they appeared as a cloud of insects.

I think the furies were added at the end of the myth because near the end of the stories nararsus got revenge for what they had done to all the woman. The furies are the Roman goddess of vengeance. Another name for them is the Erinyes. The Furies are three sistersTisiphone (avenger of murder), Megaera (the jealous) and Alecto (constant anger). They are the children of Gaia and Uranus. They were placed in the Underworld by Virgil and it is there that they wait for evil souls and sinners as they torched them. Greek poets saw them as sinners on Earth. The Furies are cruel, but very fair.

There are 3 furies and they are goddesses of vengeance. Tisiphone the avenger of murder was one of the 3. Megaera the jealous was the 2nd. And Alecto constant anger was the 3rd. Instead of being called these names they were also called the Daughter of night. They were the daughters of Uranus and Gaea. Another name for these furies is the Erinyes. The furies were like the guardians of the law when ever someone commited a crime or broke the rules they would punish them with madness. Furies would most likey punish people for committing patricide or matricide.

The Greek/Roman name for Fury is anger.
    .
I think the Furies were included at the end of the myth because they would have to be the ones that cursed because they all deal with a type of anger and people take anger out on other people.

Their parents are Uranus and Gaea.

    1. The Greek/Roman names of the Furies are Alecto, Magaera, and Tisiphone. There names mean endless, punishment, and jealous rage. They are female spirits of justice and vengeance. They are more female spirits of vengeance though.

    2. I think the furies were included at the end of this myth because they are giving him pain by twisting and winding for headbands. They did this to avenge him for what he did to echo. What he did was repetitively ignore her. She was with him for days and he didn’t even glance at her. She was in love with him and he was in love with himself. He was in love with himself because he saw his own reflection in a pond where he was drinking.

3.The furies parents are Nyx and Chaos. Nyx meaning night. Another myth says that they were made from the blood of Uranus. I believe there rages of anger come from their mother Chaos. In some stories they are related to Aphrodite and also Cronus because of Uranus.

    1. Three goddesses of vengeance: Tisiphone (avenger of murder), Megaera (the jealous) and Alecto (constant anger). They were also called the Daughters of the Night, but were actally the daughters of Uranus and Gaea. Another name for them is the Erinyes.
Without mercy, the Furies would punish all crime including the breaking of rules. The Furies would never stop following criminals. But it was horrifying to look at them with snakes for hair and blood dripping from their eyes.

    2. The Greek/Roman name for Fury is Erinyes.

    3. I think that the Furies were added to the end of this myth because they want to explain to us how these people were punished for committing such a crime for just worshiping yourself too much.

    4. The Furies are the daughters of Ouranus (Uranus) and Gaea.

I found all of my research off of Google and http://www.in2greece.com/english/historymyth/mythology/names/furies.htm
