    1. It is a battle cry because Aragorn is saying the speech with emotion. Another reason is that he is saying that a lot of people will die, but they should still be honored because they fought. Another reason is that he is trying to get the soldiers motivated and ready for the war that is coming.

It is a battle cry because Aragorn is motivating his solidiers to fight by saying today will not be your last day because he sees the fear in their eyes so his trying to motivate them so they don’t runaway

    1. I believe the speech is a battle cry because it is saying they are a family. They are saying they are brothers and will fight together. Aragorn is rallying his troops and getting them excited for war. He talks about whothey are fighting for. He lits his sword and his troops follow up on that. I believe this is saying that they are ready for war. He says he sees fear in them but they eill have courage. He says there will be days that their shields will be shattered. Then he says but not today. He believes in his troops. Important or him that his troops believe in him. Aragorn is saying that we will win and they will lose. He says the only day that we will lose is the day we lose courage. This is why I believe this is a battle cry.

This speech is a battle cry because they are also a “band of brothers”. They were not going in this battle to fight with fear but with courage. These soldiers were not crashing down they were going to win the battle. No matter the odds or anything else that stood in their way, they were going to fight through it.

This is like Henry V’s speech Because he is giving a speech just like Henry V did.

I think that this speech was a battle cry because they thought they were going to lose but ended up winning. Also because they thought they were going to die but still fought for their country. I think it was the Henry V speech because they were outnumbered. Thought they were going to lose. They both still fought for their country. Both of them ended up winning against the odds. Both like poem speeches. They were both getting pumped for battle. Both leaders were fighting in the war. This is how I think this speech is a battle of cry also like the Henry V speech.

I think this video is a Battle Cry because he chants or says a speech to the soliders to motivate them and encourage them to do their best and know the war isn’t over yet.I also think it’s a battle cry because even if they are out numbered they will still know they can win if they try hard enough.

It is a battle cry because they are about to fight a war. The speech gets them ready to fight in the war. It is when they are about to go in the war when he says the battle cry to get the soldiers prepared and ready to do there best in the war that they are about to fight. This is a battle cry because it is a speech right before a war. I got information on http://mrspanzograde7languagearts.wordpress.com/

The speech by Aragorn from J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings is a battle cry because he’s chanting his feelings about the fight and he’s getting them ready to fight, like giving them a boost of courage. At the end when they lift their swords up, to me shows that they agree with his battle cry, and that they are ready to fight.

This is a battle cry because when he is speaking to all his soldiers he is saying by us fighting we are showing everyone else that isnt fighting that there lucking out to be a man of the west as Aragorn says to all his men that are fighting in the battle. It could aslso be a battle cry by the leader telling them or reminding them what happend in the past to all there ancestors and even there ancestors from generation to generation they will always be threw with bad and threw good just do what your ment to do in the first place not for what you were meant to do before the battle. And the last reason for the battle cry could also be when this pritcular band of brothers go to war the will always be someone there right next to that person for support and for their pride.

    1. He is expressing his feelings with his soldiers that even if you die, you would still be remmbered. They knew they were going to die but they would die with honor. He named them they’re brothers which we learned about.

Describe how this speech by Aragorn from J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings is a battle cry?
The speech by Aragorn from J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings is a battle cry because when Aragorn comes in all of the soldiers are scared because they are being charged at by a much larger army. But Aragorn comes in and said “I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me”. What he is saying is that he sees fear in them and he sees why they are scared, he is scared too. “A day may come when all bonds of men are broken but today is not the day”. Aragorn is saying that one day bad things will happen but it is not this day, this day we fight. This is a war chant because Aragon is trying to get the army pumped up because they are down. Aragon’s war chant speech succeeds because the army wants to fight for their country.

This speech by Aragorn from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings is a battle cry because the soldier is shouting and telling them that they are going to go into war and fight bravely and courageously. The emotions in the video are very intense and you can tell how the soldiers are feeling. He says to them that they will fight and by all things dear to them they will stand. If you read it out loud without any feeling, it would be boring. When you see how it is meant to be said, it is interesting and it makes you feel like you are actually there and you feel the intensity. He is telling them to go out there and fight their hardest.
